Suzuki supports relief effort in JapanMar 16, 2011
Suzuki Motor Corporation and Suzuki GB PLC expresses their heartfelt sympathy to those affected by the Earthquake in Japan.
The largest earthquake to hit Japan since records began and subsequent Tsunami hit on Friday 11th March. Fortunately, this has not affected the families of the Japanese staff at Suzuki GB, and the SMC staff based in Japan are also largely unaffected. The epicentre of the Earthquake and subsequent Tsunami were located some 300km North of Tokyo, whereas Suzuki’s Head Office and six manufacturing plants are located approximately 250km South of Tokyo.
However, there are many more people who have been affected and lost loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.
The rescue operations and efforts to save lives are foremost in our thoughts at this time and we wish to thank you all for your support and consideration.
In support of their relief and recovery efforts, Suzuki has decided to donate 30 million yen through the Japanese Red Cross Society.
