Test Drive Check List

Buying a car is a big decision, so a test drive is a great idea. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of it:

The basics:

  • Don’t forget to bring both parts of your driver’s licence
  • Choose a quiet time of day and a route you know well
  • Test out the car on normal roads and a motorway if possible
  • Make sure it’s easy to perform simple manoeuvres

The technical stuff:

  • Get comfortable by getting mirrors and seats in the right position for you
  • Make sure you know where to find the lights, wipers and indicators before you set off
  • It’s a good idea to know what’s under the bonnet too

The right choice:

  • If the car isn’t quite what you expected, ask the Dealer to talk you through
  • Think whether the car can do what you need it to do on a daily basis
  • Involve your family on the day. After all, you’ll want them to back your decision.
  • If anyone else will drive the car, make sure they try it out too
